Lesly Davidson, MD

Dr. Davidson earned her medical degree from the Eastern Virginia Medical School. She spent her internship year practicing pediatrics at the same institution and cares for children from infancy on. She completed her dermatology residency at the Medical University of South Carolina. Dr. Davidson is certified by the American Board of Dermatology. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and a member of both the South Carolina Medical Association and the Charleston Medical Society.

Dr. Davidson’s medical scope is broad. She conducts clinical research, performs cosmetically excellent surgery for cancer as well as elective purposes, and manages difficult medical problems involving the skin of all age groups. She particularly enjoys combating the effects of aging using fillers, botulinum toxins and Kybella injections. Her consultations are consistently thorough, and she is always striving to provide her patients with the best care available.

Outside of work, Dr. Davidson enjoys running with her dog, biking and all sorts of outdoor activities including SCUBA diving. She is an avid reader, member of the Charleston Area Justice Ministry (CAJM) and the Unitarian Universalist Church, as well as the mother of two fine young women.


Ellen Matteson, PA-C

Ellen Matteson is a board-certified physician assistant who received her BS from Rutgers University and completed her master’s in physician assistant studies at Rutgers, School of Health Professions. She has been working in dermatology private practice since 2009. Prior to that, Ellen worked in various surgical settings, including plastics and New York Hospital’s burn unit.

She has extensive experience in treating a wide array of skin conditions, including acne, eczema and skin cancer. She loves to educate her patients on general skin health, skin cancer prevention, and antiaging regimens, including products, cosmetic procedures and lasers.

Ellen and her family recently relocated to the Charleston area to enjoy the beaches, restaurants and mild winters. In her spare time, she loves to play tennis, take her dogs to the beach and spend time with her family. Ellen is the mother of three young adults - a son and twin girls.


Lauren Bostwick, PA-C

Lauren Bostwick is a board-certified physician assistant who received her Bachelor’s of Health Science at the University of Florida in 2020. She completed her Master’s in Physician Assistant Studies at the Medical University of South Carolina in 2023. Confident she wanted to specialize in Dermatology, Lauren completed her final rotation of PA school at Davidson Dermatology and fell in love with the practice.

While at MUSC, Lauren was elected as the South Carolina Society of Dermatology PA’s student representative, which focused on increasing student involvement in local dermatology settings. She organized dermatology PA student volunteering at North Charleston’s “Dream Center Clinic,” a free medical clinic serving Charleston’s homeless populations.

Lauren is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA) and the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants (SDPA). She is delighted to begin her career in dermatology serving Mount Pleasant. She has an interest in general skin health, skin cancer prevention, and skin care regimens. Lauren is excited to be learning aesthetic dermatology and will offer injectable and laser treatments after further training.

Lauren is recently engaged and lives in Mount Pleasant with her fiancé, William, and their Yellow Lab, Goose. She enjoys spending time with her family, attending Seacoast Church, enjoying Charleston’s restaurants, and cheering on her Alma Mater - the Florida Gators.

Special Guest - Susan Melching

Ms. Melching is our visiting permanent makeup artist. She has over 30 years experience in Colorado, South Carolina and abroad enhancing eyebrows and lips as well as applying permanent eye liner. Originally trained as both an electrologist and as an aesthetician, she has completed hundreds of hours of specialized training in permanent makeup artistry. She has stayed abreast of the latest techniques by attending courses and workshops around the country throughout her career.
